What. A. Mess.

So... I will preface this to say that GEICO has been pretty good about the whole situation. However, their Auto Repair Xpress shop -- Collision Works of West Wichita -- is absolutely HORRIBLE. I really hope they reconsider doing business with such a horrible and dishonest company.

I've previously written about the crap we've had to deal with concerning our experience. The first time we picked up the vehicle, the washer fluid alarm kept going off repeatedly on the drive home. Johnny also noticed that the hood was crooked. So we took the vehicle back to Collision Works. They found that the windshield washer fluid reservoir was broken...so they replaced that.

We picked the vehicle up the second time and the hood was STILL crooked and there was a horrible banging noise. Johnny opened the hood and saw rocks all over the engine bay. Not only that, but the hood was still crooked. So...we took the vehicle back to Collision Works.

We picked up the vehicle the third time and the hood was STILL crooked. But at this point, we were tired of driving all the way across the next town to pick it up. So we just left the rental car with Collision Works and headed back home. The next day in the sunlight, I realized that there were still glass shards all over the dash and floor...despite a full hour of glass clean-up being clearly listed on the estimate.

THEN...Johnny was on his way to a doctor appointment shortly after -- in the rain -- and the windshield wiper on the passenger side of the vehicle just flew off. And because he couldn't see without using the windshield wiper for the driver side, the brand new windshield has a big scratch on the passenger side now.

And if all of that wasn't enough, we found a $132.09 charge from Hertz for the rental car. Since this was an insurance replacement covered by our policy and we didn't purchase any add-ons, there shouldn't have been any charges. Well...come to find out Collision Works didn't return the rental car over TWO WEEKS after we left it with them. And on top of that, when GEICO asked them about it they claimed that they never even had the rental car! They outright LIED about it. WTF?! Luckily, we have a text from someone with Collision Works admitting that they had the vehicle as well as my email to Hertz at the time letting them know that we'd left the rental with Collision Works for them to return.

We've been working with GEICO concerning the situation. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and left bad reviews on the FB and Google pages for Collision Works. Do not go to Collision Works of West Wichita for ANYTHING. Tell all your friends.

0/10 would not recommend.

Edited to add: Still not thrilled by the fact that Collision Works tried to lie about never having the rental vehicle. The security camera footage does show that they took the vehicle back earlier than the 28th though (I can't remember what day because it's been awhile now) so Hertz will be refunding us the $132.09 for the rental car. GEICO has also refunded us the portion of our policy that we've paid for rental coverage...which I thought was really nice of them. Like I said before, GEICO has been great throughout the whole fiasco.

Edited again to add: After filing a complaint with the BBB, Collision Works refunded our insurance deductible...so I'm happy about that.
